Collect or capture at least three (3) labels or brands of any product found in your house indicating or showing the chemical name or chemical formula and provide a brief discussion.

Example: Medicine wrapper or nutritional value showing chemical name or chemical formula. Identity the component, whether ionic compound, covalent or acidic and discuss their importance and uses.

The chemical name shows the names of each of its elements or sub-compounds. It is named by their source, uses or its property of the combining elements. It is different from the trivial name of a compound. Assigning a trivial name to a compound is sometimes difficult because of its complicated properties.

A Chemical compound is any substance that is composed of identical molecules consisting of atoms of two or more chemical elements. It has two types, first is organic compound which were originally isolated from living organisms while a chemical compound that lacks carbon–hydrogen bonds is called inorganic compound. Chemical compounds are used for our daily uses like cleaning and cooking. The process of identifying chemical compounds is attempting to get a look at the gears of nature, understand and even influence the outcome of life’s processes.

In the relation to the activity given, we are asked to search for any products around the house which indicates a chemical name or formula and identify whether it is ionic, covalent, or acid then finally discuss the uses of some chemical name or formula we find.
